They've been used for decades in things like non-stick pans and waterproof clothing. The problem? They don\u2019t break down easily and can accumulate in the environment and in our bodies.<\/span><\/p><h4 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\">Are there PFAS in wine?<\/span><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\"><span>Some analyses have found tiny traces of PFAS in wine. How do they get there? Through rainwater, irrigation, or even materials used during winemaking. But the concentrations are <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\">extremely low<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\"><span>often below detection limits \u2014 and well below the safety thresholds established in Europe.<\/span><\/span><\/p><h4 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\">Is it a health risk?<\/span><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\"><span>According to European food safety authorities, the amount of PFAS you might ingest through wine <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\">negligible<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\"><span> In other words: <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\"><span>a good glass of wine is no cause for concern.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\"><span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p><h4 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\">What\u2019s our approach?<\/span><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-family: Liberation Sans, sans-serif;\">We work with passionate producers who care about people and the planet.
