“Croix Violettes” is simply a top terroir, but located in Brochon, the wine is sold as Côte de Nuits Villages. A good thing for aficionados, as it is among the best from the cellar every year, a wine that can definitely stand alongside many more expensive Bourgognes! The yield here is always very low, but in 2021 there really is almost nothing. The wine, however, is superb. I am not exaggerating when I compare it to the best premier cru’s from Gevrey-Chambertin! A very deep colour, almost syrah, intensely spicy nose with dark fruit and a very full, structured palate with a very long finish. A real Great Burgundy!
