New since 2015, this extremely confident wine is made exclusively from fruit from the oldest terraces in Castellina. Pure Sangiovese and vinified in exactly the same way as the Gagliole. We think this is one of the very finest, most refined and nuanced wines from Chianti Classico with an unusually pure, varietal, finesse-rich aroma and flavour, a fabulous expression of classic Sangiovese in Chianti Classico. Barely 2,000 bottles of this wine are made and even then only in the great years! Later years come under the Gran Selezione label.

Wine Advocate (Moçnica Larner): “Extremely fine tuned and precise, the 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Gallule offers depth and a long succession of delicate nuances with dark fruit, balsam herb, licorice and freshly tilled potting soil. This is complete and beautiful wine executed in a very classic style. This wine is all about the smaller details, best accentuated with a Porcini mushroom risotto. The Sangiovese grapes are harvested from an ancient terraced vineyard in Castellina in Chianti. A precious few 2,000 bottles were made. 95+/100
