Product Details
The Nebbiolo grapes for this stately Barolo are harvested in mid-October. Fermentation lasts for about 25 days after which the wine matures in large 50-hectolitre barrels for 18 to 36 months. The oak comes from the Fontainebleau forest. Some 25,000 bottles are produced annually.
Violets and roses open the bouquet, cherries and raspberries take over. This Barolo drinks rather smoothly, thanks to a fine structure and elegant tannins. That gives it a freshness that is rare for this traditionally bone-dry wine. Partly because of that light touch, the 2018 Barolo Classic suits a whole range of occasions. From a simple country picnic to a hearty main course.
