Giovanni Rosso Barolo La Serra 2018 is one of those that reminds wine lovers of the origins of all that love. A classic, beautiful Barolo that immediately offers a lively, powerful but also neatly structured nose. The flavour structure begins quite austere. Notes of wild berries pave the way for more complex companions like coffee, liquorice, violets and mint. Balsamic is present in the background. This companion stands out as a savoury block with power, plenty of structure and bright tannins. The long finish is a pleasure in itself and makes the wine go well with long-cooked red meat, venison for example.
