Massolino Langhe Chardonnay 2021
This wine represents their interpretation of the renowned Chardonnay grape variety. Meticulous attention is dedicated to the Langhe DOC Chardonnay, from vineyard care to scrupulous vinification. Despite the Langa region’s traditional reputation for full-bodied reds, Chardonnay has found a second home here. It is celebrated for its richness, excitement, and exceptional aging potential. The soil composition, characterized by mixed consistency with a tendency towards limestone, contributes to the wine’s unique character. Its first production year dates back to 1992.
The vinification and aging process involve partial vinification and aging in barriques, casks, and cement. The wine matures on fermenting yeasts for approximately 12 months before bottling, followed by at least 6 months of bottle ageing before release.
Thanks to meticulous care in the vineyard and precise vinification techniques, even in a region known for red wines, this Chardonnay achieves richness and potency. It’s capable of aging gracefully for many years, delivering authentic and surprising experiences for even the most discerning palates.
The wine exhibits a more or less bright straw yellow hue, depending on the vintage. Expect the fanciful scents of ripe fruit and excellent mineral qualities, complemented by optimal freshness. This Chardonnay offers a warm and expansive palate experience with gentleness and character, leaving a lingering aftertaste. It benefits from the structure provided by the Langa soils. Serving temperature recommendation is between 12-15°C. It belongs to the category of structured whites that improve with age.
Pair it with saltwater and freshwater fish dishes, such as trout, or explore its exceptional compatibility with white and red meats when prepared slowly with delicate spices.
