It's full-bodied in the mouth, with a generous, silky mouthfeel and an expansive, voluptuous finish that folds in hints of dark chocolate and salted licorice. Pure oude Grenache op een kalksteen-marl terroir. Deze druiven worden gefermenteerd met de steeltjes (vendange entière) en de wijn rijpt vervolgens 12 maanden in eiken vaten, 20% nieuw en wordt gebotteld zonder filtering. Samen met Le Poste en Hominis Fides behoort dit tot het beste wat de Grenache en de zuidelijke Rhône te bieden hebben. Van de drie parcellaires van Saint Cosme is Le Claux meestal onze favoriet en blijkbaar komt Louis Barruol tot dezelfde conclusie.
