Domaine Jean Fournier Marsannay “Cuvée Saint Urbain” 2012
Domaine Jean Fournier Marsannay “Cuvée Saint Urbain” 2012
Saint-Urbain is de “basis” cuvée van Fournier en geeft een mooi beeld van de appelatie Marsannay. Een mooie, diepe kleur, een mooi boeket van rood en zwart fruit, een elegante vrij volle smaak en mooie afdronk.
The Burgundy Report: “The name St.Urban refers to the small tower behind the domaine. 20% whole-clusters used here, with elevage in 600 litre barrels – not much new oak – the last three months of elevage in tank. A heady, deep scent that’s almost textured. In the mouth it is round but detailed and fresh, the flavour grows and grows. Fine acidity and lovely definition. What a super first wine!”
The Wine Advocate: “The 2012 Marsannay Cuvee St. Urbain has a light marmalade-tinged bouquet with a touch of smoke. The palate is medium-bodied but with a firm grip. Perhaps a little angular in the mouth, it has a fine broody finish that will hopefully open up with several months’ bottle age.
