Antoniolo Gattinara San Francesco 2010
San Francesco was the first vineyard Antoniolo vinified separately. Fermentation with natural yeasts in small steel and cement vats, followed by maturation in 25hl oak barrels for up to 3 years. This results in a deeply coloured, very fragrant, complex, strong-tasting fruity-mineral wine with a long finish for Nebbiolo. These wines are made according to the principles of natural wine and can develop amazingly beautifully in the bottle for a long time. Less known than the wines from the Langhe, but certainly on the same level, something that more and more wine lovers are starting to discover.

Another intense, powerful wine, the San Francesco occasionally also show a more tender, welcoming side of its personality. Sweet tobacco, licorice and dried herbs all add nuance to the beautifully textured. There is a level of sweetness and openness to the San Francesco that the other wines don't offer, at least not today." 94/100
