De “basis” Gigondas is alvast een topper: prachtige diepe kleur, heerlijk neus van rood fruit met kruiden, amandel, vrij vol maar heerlijk evenwicht en grote lengte. Onwaarschijnlijk voor een moeilijk jaar, maar Louis offerde de cuvée “Valbelle” geheel op en ook een deel van “Le Claux” ging in deze cuvée. Vooral de heerlijke zuiverheid en “fraicheur” bevalt ons enorm.

Sweet red fruit and lavender pastille flavors show very good depth and an energizing jolt of peppery spices on the back half. Finishes spicy, focused and long, with resonating red berry character and sneaky tannins lending shape.” 90-92/100
