With the 2016 vintage, Julien brought 2 new "parcellaires" to the market. This one comes from "Les Routes", located next to "Hautes Garrigues" and planted with Syrah. This wine is raised on 228l oak barrels and it is a breathtakingly beautiful Syrah, unfortunately very limited in availability with only 600 bottles.

Joe Czerwinsky (The Wine Advocate): "Substantially darker in hue and flavor profile than the 2018 version, the 2019 Gigondas Les Routes features a smoky, bacony note atop garrigue and blueberry notes. Medium to full-bodied, it's silky-textured, long and fresh on the finish—an excellent wine, but one I'm not sure is going to turn out as fine or elegant as the impressive 2018." 93-95/100

Josh Reynolds (Vinous): "Vivid purple. Deeply pitched aromas of cassis, blackberry, candied licorice and violet are complicated by suggestions of olive paste, incense and smoky minerals. Smooth and seamless in texture, offering impressively concentrated black/blue fruit preserve and floral pastille flavors and a sexy spicecake flourish. Becomes sweeter and more lively with air. Finishes extremely long and precise, with slow-building, polished tannins adding grip to the long, sappy, floral-driven finish." 94-96/100
