Pinot Noir has been almost completely replaced by the more lucrative Chardonnay in recent decades, but red Chassagne used to be highly sought after. Only a handful of winemakers still produce red wine in this commune. Philippe Colin makes a very nice wine here that, in terms of its aromas of red berry and cranberry, is perhaps somewhat reminiscent of the Côte de Nuits. This comes from the vineyard "Champ de Morjot", located on the south side of the commune, near Morgeot. The wine matures in partly new oak barrels. Great value for money here!
