Probably the only wine made from 100% Croatina! Croatina is a difficult grape because the tannins ripen very late, so this is picked at full maturity in late October! The grapes from these old vines are of course lower in acidity and higher in sugar, making this soft, powerful tasting wine somewhat reminiscent of Amarone but at lower alcohol. Piane is a dense, full-bodied, soft, dark-fruited wine with great depth and length.
