David Schildknecht (Vinous): “By now, I expect outstanding price/quality rapport from Spanier’s generic Silvaner, and this rendition doesn’t disappoint. At 12% alcohol, there is no danger of heaviness, much less heat, nor does this Silvaner fall prey in the least to that grape’s tendency toward flab in hot vintages. Alkaline and stony notes serve as the leading edge of this wine’s aromatic performance and are, less surprisingly, the last to disappear from a long finish. There is a certain midpalate softness of feel, but combined with animating primary juiciness. Pear fruit is prominently but invigoratingly marked by seed piquancy, while lime peel and marjoram serve for additional stimulation..” 90/100
