Capanna Brunello di Montalcino 2017

Jaar na jaar produceert de Cencioni familie topklasse, langlevende, klassieke Brunello van hun hooggelegen zuid -zuidwest geörienteerde wijngaarden in de Montesoli regio. De hoge ligging verleent de wijnen hun spanning en mineraliteit, terwijl de zuidelijke expositie zorgt voor een goede rijping, het beste van beide werelden.

Luca Gardini: “North-East area of Montalcino, a winery with unassailable historicity, here in an excellent interpretation of 2017. A Brunello of great character. Nose of red currant, with touches of undergrowth and nutmeg, with a nice hint of juniper at the end. It has an excellent density, salty tannins and a fruity-balsamic finish.“ 97/100 (slechts 4 wijnen kregen een iets hogere score, alle een ietsiepietsie duurder!!)

“Patrizio and Amedeo Cencioni’s Capanna is located near the Montosoli hill, on the northern side of the appellation, where the soils are rich in galestro rocks and marine deposits. The area benefits especially from steep diurnal temperature shifts that give the wines bright freshness.
