Lessona is a totally different terroir to Bramaterra with yellow, very poor, acidic soils of ancient sea deposits. The wine, from 95-100% Nebbiolo and 0-5% Vespolina,ferments in stainless steel cuves, maturing in used barrels, identical to Bramaterra. Although the planting here is younger, even this wine already makes it clear that Lessona will become an important AOP. Very elegant, finesse-rich wine with nice length, more supple than Bramaterra.

Sweet dried cherry, mint, crushed autumn leaves, spice and tobacco lend notable aromatic presence. Flavorful, beguiling and full of character, the 2017 delivers the goods, and then some. It’s a gorgeous wine.” 93/100
