Domaine Jean Fournier Marsannay Es Chezots 2022

Es Chezots is a bit higher up the slope in the “Combe” and is therefore slightly cooler, more ventilated. A very perfumed wine with a nose of red berries and wild strawberries and a hint of roses. A nice, semi-full palate with some tension a touch of tannin on the finish.

Inside Burgundy: “Half is in 161/49 and it is declining fast. Another super intense purple colour. A bright rich strawberry and raspberry fruit, bramble and peonies for Laurent. A few more tannins here. The Chezots is not quite as together as either Longeroies or Clos du Roy. After the exotic nose the fruit is a little drier on the palate. Laurent says it always is – so gets longer elevage usually. Drink from 2028-2033.” ***
