Le Pau blijkt de juiste benaming van dit kleine perceel in Clos du Roy. Laurent vinifieert deze apart van oude stokken in het hoogste stuk van deze (bijna) premier cru met maar een dunne laag aarde op de kalksteen. Ook in 2019 een absolute topwijn met een diepdonkere kleur, zeer volle, dense mond met veel vette tannines. Ik durf het bijna niet schrijven,, maar ik proef Grand Cru’s bij gerenommeerde wijnbouwers die dit niveau bij lange na niet halen! Wat een wijn!
Wine Advocate (Neal Martin): “he 2019 Marsannay “Pur Pôt” is very elegant on the nose, a mixture of red and black fruit, pressed iris flowers and a light marine influence. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. Touch of salted liquorice here, fine weight with a distinctive, flower nose that is velvety in texture. Again, this will be very sensual and seductive once bottled. [NB: The name of this cuvée may change by the time of bottling as Laurent Fournier told me that he found an alternative spelling, hopefully one that does not sound like a brutal Cambodian dictator.” 91-93/100
