Pur Pôt is een selectie van oude vignes in het steilste deel van de Clos du Roy wijngaard. De wijn wordt gevinifieerd als een Chambertin of Clos de la Roche en Laurent bewijst hiermee nogmaals dat er in Marsannay wijnen van Grand Cru niveau kunnen gemaakt worden. Krachtig, dens, tanninerijk is dit een zeer rasvolle wijn die veel tijd vraagt op fles.
RP: “The 2014 Pur Pot is a special selection of vines from Clos du Roy grown on particularly calcerous soils, and is matured 50% new oak; it includes 80% whole bunch fruit. It has superb fruit intensity on the nose with black cherries, cassis and raspberry coulis, with wonderful definition with an undertow of minerals emanating from the earth. The palate is medium-bodied, rounded and vivacious, with smoke-tinged black fruit with a very dense, concentrated finish that maintains superb delineation from start to finish. Give it 3-4 years in bottle before broaching.” (91-93)/100
