Since 2017, Laurent has also owned some fine parcels in the Côte de Beaune including in Pernand-Vergelesses in this village’s most famous vineyard. From the first year, it was clear that this was a top plot, a hefty addition to the range.

Vinous (Neal Martin): ” The 2021 Pernand-Vergelesses Les Vergelesses 1er Cru offers a mix of red and black fruit, the two-thirds whole bunches are beautifully integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine acidity, taut and fresh with blackberry and bilberry notes. It is quite sapid on the finish and will benefit from 2-3 years in bottle. Just one barrel produced because of frost damage.”
