Domaine Mélaric Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame Clos de la Cerisaie 2019

Domaine Mélaric is a young estate, established in 2006, with some top vineyards on the limestone soils in Saumur, near Puy Notre Dame. Aymeric and Mélanie work entirely according to the principles of natural wine without additives, using natural yeasts, ageing in wood and tanks, no filtering, and minimal amounts of sulfites at bottling. Their wines are particularly pure in terms of fruit and possess a delightful finesse.

The Clos de la Cerisaie vineyard is situated on an eastern slope at an altitude of about 75 meters, with a soil composition of clay-loam soil on white tufa stone. This wine is 100% Cabernet-Franc from 55-year-old vines, 100% destemmed and aged for 2 years in wooden barrels, 15% new before being bottled without filtration, containing only a minimal 15-20mg per liter of sulfites. A complete wine of great class where the Cabernet shines through with its finesse and depth. Ageing potential 15 to 25 years
