Burghound: “More evident wood sets off liquer-like dark berry aromas that are interwoven with spice, earth and plum scents. The rich, full-bodied and concentrated flavors demonstrate fine power and ample muscle on the tannic, rustic and serious finish. This is very Pommard in character and while packed with potential, it’s also a wine that’s going to need at least moderate patience; if you have it, then this is recommended.” 90-93/100

Wine Advocate (Neal Martin): “The 2015 Pommard 1er Cru Les Croix Noires contains 30% whole cluster fruit and 30% new French oak. This felt more backward on the nose following the Les Argillières. It gradually opens in the glass revealing commendable mineralité. The palate is well balanced with supple tannin and crisp acidity, a pinch of white pepper towards the finish lending complexity and vivacity. This is another well-crafted wine from Anne Parent and comes recommended.” 90-92/100

The Burgundy Report: “Also great colour. The nose like the others less overtly formed, but with freshness and a faint accent od oak. A little more mineral, lovely width of complex flavour with an inherent freshness.A little tannin and frankly beautiful flavours to finish with – great potential here – a super wine!”

Sarah Marsh: “More clay here – but not with the iron oxide you have in Rugiens. 2À days maceration on skins 35% whole bunches and 45% new oak. Plumtuous, deep and juicy palate. Dense and succulent. The tannins are ripe, but firm. It has a good structure and a very fresh finish. So this is more forward than the Argillières.”
