Greer Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 Napa Valley

RP: “The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon reflects a slightly warmer vintage than the 2018, showing a bit more power and darker fruit characters but also slightly less perfume. Offering up classic notes of cassis and dark loam, it’s still tremendously supple, concentrated and long. From a superbly situated three-acre vineyard on Manley Lane in Rutherford, I suspect availability will largely be limited to the mailing list.” 97/100
With only about three acres under vine, Greer will be a new name to many consumers, despite having been in existence as a wine label since the 2007 vintage. Located on Manley Lane in Rutherford, across from Staglin and abutting Morisoli and Joseph Phelps’s Manley Lane vineyard (an important Insignia component), it’s a fabulous location, and with the wine made by Aaron Pott, I was blown away by the quality of the 2018 and 2019 vintages.”
