The Prevostura hill produced some of Piedmont’s most renowned wines a century ago. Unfortunately, all the vineyards here were also uprooted. In 2001, they began replanting and installed their vinification room at the top of the hill. The vineyard faces due south, on a substantial slope with a soil of old sea sand, clay and silt. They released their first wine in 2009 and the 2010 wines were already attracting attention. However, in my opinion it is especially from 2011 on that they really impress. These are truly special wines, full of finesse and long on the palate.
