Christoph Künzli: “Finally we release this wine from a cooler and great vintage. The wine improved a lot showing now big complexity with wide aromatics, going from violets to little fruits and from pink grapefruit to pomegranate and from spices and herbs to fall-forest. Still the wine has good tannins and acidity to keep long years and improve a lot. Great finish and harmony with only 12.5% Alcohol. Unfiltered.
The limited production was totally allocated to the markets.”
Antonio Galloni (Vinous): “The 2013 Boca is powerful, dense and explosive – almost shockingly so. A wine of extraordinary purity and depth, the 2013 possesses stunning richness and notes of dark wild cherry, plum, mint and wild flowers, all wrapped inside a ball of huge tannins. The 2013 is a total knockout, but it won’t be released until next year and won’t be at its best for another few years beyond that or longer.” 95+/100
Wine Advocate (Monica Larner): “Concerned about the cool conditions of the growing season (which saw alot of rain throughout the spring and summer months), Christoph Künzliworried that he would be forced to skip over this vintage. Thankfully, the 2013 Boca was made, and it most certainly delivers the goods. The latter part of the growing season—and the most critical—saw sunshine and heat, leading to a late harvest with fruit ripening on the vines until October 23rd. This blend of Nebbiolo and Vespolina shows beautiful balance and delineation, with bright fruit and crisp freshness that will serve the wine well as it ages forward in time. This vintage also delivers a sound sense of inner power that pushes it elegantly over the palate.” 95+/100
