After fermentation, the wine remains on its lees for about five months at a constant temperature.Straw yellow with greenish reflections, a fine, delicate nose and tasty, harmonic and medium-bodied with a clean, dry finish.
The Livon family epic starts in 1964, when Dorino Livon bought his first vineyard
purchase on the enchanting hills of the Collio. Dorino fused with his region, the Friuli – sometimes called the gateway to Eastern Europe. Plot by plot, he would strengthen his ties with this homeland, and in the early 1980s both of his sons Livon also entered the business.
They bring with them a modern take on marketing and growth, all ideas grafted onto a base that starts from high-quality products. At the same time, the Livon family understands that tastes and preferences evolve. They set out to diversify in the 1990s.
That includes new acquisitions, this time also outside Friuli: Borgo Salcetino in Tuscany and Fattoria Colsanto, in Bevagna (Perugia) in the Montefalco DOCG, Umbria.
In 2008, Livon also opened the rural and beautifully restored Locanda Villa Chiopris, for wine tastings and as a B&B. The views of the surrounding vineyards are sublime.
More than 50 years after Dorino’s first purchase, Livon is a global brand with high prestige.
