The only sparkling wine produced by the winery is a dedication to American President Thomas Jefferson who tasted Gattinara for the first time in 1787 and praised Nebbiolo as a grape of great quality even then.
The Nebbiolo grapes for this sparkling Rosato are harvested one month before the Gattinara harvest so the grapes still contain high acidity needed for any sparkling. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks and second fermentation in bottle (Metodo Classico),and age on the lees for 36 months. This results in a fresh but rich sparkling rosé with complex fruity aromas, soft on the palate with total freshness and strong minerality in perfect balance. A really great Spumante Rosato!
