Palladino Barolo Riserva San Bernardo 2015
New discovery! The wines from this producer are exactly what we are looking for in Barolo, namely intense and powerful, but above all also very fragrant and full of finesse, absolutely to be discovered, a must have for every lover of Barolo. The Parafada opens promisingly with aromas of red berries, rose, undergrowth and a note of balsamic vinegar. The mouth effortlessly meets the now high expectations. Juicy wild cherry, raspberry, cloves, white pepper, grilled herbs, vanilla, minerals and firm but fine-grained tannins each play a starring role in a well-constructed direction. This full, delicious wine immediately has depth. Still, it’s best to keep it for a while to fully enjoy its complexity
Ian d’Agatha (TerroirSense): “Dark bright red. Slightly subdued aromas of black cherry, raspberry, licorice and graphite. Then rich, and deep dark cherry fruit flavours are complicated and lifted by flowers and licorice. Closes in a darker, more savoury style than the other Barolos from this winery, most likely a reflection of the older, different vintage.” 93+/100
