Saint Cosme Saint-Joseph 2017
Saint Cosme Saint-Joseph 2017
“From granitic soils at the northern end of Saint Joseph, the 2017 Saint Joseph reveals scents of smoke, crushed stone and black olives. Medium to full-bodied, it’s nicely concentrated and ripe, with fine-grained tannins lingering in a dusty manner on the long finish.” 90-92/100 (RP)
“Layers of dried sage, bramble and green peppercorns lend a sauvage appeal to plump, juicy black cherry and plum in this wine. It’s a full bodied but graceful Syrah fringed by fine tannins. The finish is delightfully floral, etched by violet and rose-petal perfume. Lovely already, the wine should drink well through 2027.” 93/100 (Wine Enthousiast)
100% Serine (old Syrah clone) on Malleval granite soils, raised on 20% new wooden barrels. This is a particularly fine Saint-Joseph, perhaps a little more quickly accessible than its predecessor.
