Domaine Jean Fournier Bourgogne Aligoté “Champ Forey” 2022

Laurent Fournier is one of the driving forces behind the ‘Aligoteurs’ group of winemakers who aim to re-establish this grape on the (prestigious) map. This wine comes from a top terroir in Marsannay with low yields. It is truly one of the most beautiful Aligotés, with a lovely, pure bouquet featuring a hint of pine, citrus, and a fairly full, long flavour – very beautiful.

Inside Burgundy Jasper Morris MW: Racked to tank just before the harvest. Mid lemon and lime. A beautifully perfumed nose. This is a delight as much on the nose as in the mouth where there is a certain sucrosity, a little rose water along with some white fruit and a touch of liquorice. Very exciting, though the softer and more sucrose style is less expected. Drink from 2024-2027.” ****
