Domaine Jean Fournier Marsannay Le Chapître Vieilles Vignes 2021

Chapître is a top vineyard in Chenôve, entitled to the AOP Marsannay since 2019. Since 2016, the grapes for this wine come partially from recently planted high-quality vines with high density. It is an exceptionally fine, very aromatic, smooth, and supple wine that can be compared in style to Clos du Roy with a bit more finesse and a bit less concentration.

Inside Burgundy: “A fine mid red crimson. The bouquet is stylish with less intensity than Aloxe. Whole bunches much in evidence on the palate, in a form that pleases me as it helps the intensity of strawberry and cherry fruit explode on the palate. The tannins are not dry on the finish and the fruit continues seamlessly past them. Drink from 2025-2028.” 89-91/100
