Neal Martin: “The 2019 Santenay Les Gravières 1er Cru has a rich and opulent bouquet, perhaps to the extent that it detracts slightly from the typicité of the appellation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. There is more composure and the refinement that was just missing aromatically, velvety smooth on the sensual black cherry and wild strawberry finish. Hopefully the nose will just “calm down” by the time of bottling.”
Bourgogne Aujourd’hui: “Nez doux, épicé, avec des notes de cacao et de cerises noires. La bouche est gourmande et charnue, avec un fruité riche et un boisé discret. Un vigneron plus que jamais incontournable, chez lequel tout est de haut niveau.”
