“All of Rampolla's 2012s in amphora are hugely delicious, but if there is wine that intrigues me most on a personal level it is the Cabernet Sauvignon Ivo, which emerges from a parcel of old Canaiolo vines regrafted with Cabernet in 1978 that also informs Sammarco. Varietal Cabernet Sauvignon aromas and flavors captivate all of the senses. Graphite, sage, rosemary and black fruits are some of the many nuances that are vibrant and alive in the glass. Wonderfully expressive and pure, the 2012 is flat out dazzling. I am not sure how the 2012 will age, but I plan on putting away a few bottles to find out for myself. This is a showstopper from Rampolla. I only hope consumers will taste a wine as magical as I did.” 93-95/100 (Vinous)
