Cristina was born into a winegrowing family with a rich history in Barolo. Her great-grandfather Teobaldo founded the family winery in 1864, located in the heart of Barolo. The tradition was continued by her grandfather and uncle. However, for more than 30 years no wine was bottled under the name ‘Prandi’, making the bottles inaccessible to the world. Cristina started in 2019 together with her uncle, who passed away in 2021. After his death, Cristina took over the reins and set out on her own path.

Cristina owns vineyards in Paiagallo and La Morra, two of the most prestigious areas in Barolo. Since 2023 she has had a new cellar in La Morra, which will be ready after renovation in 2025. There, she continues her ambition to expand production and improve the quality of her wines. Her respect for nature, traditional viticultural methods, and the Nebbiolo grape is clearly reflected in her work, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The wine macerates in cement vats and matures in large oak casks and stainless-steel tanks, allowing it to express its true character.

Cristina’s vision embraces the classic style of Nebbiolo, with the profound flavours that make the region so unique. With her determination, passion and respect for her ancestors, Cristina Prandi is a rising star in Barolo, continuing her family’s rich tradition while creating her own future.

The wine estate was acquired in the 1950s by Guido Fogliati. Guido and Annalisa produce Barolo, Langhe Nebbiolo, and other authentic wines from the region. The estate is located on the historic Pugnane cru, known for its unique soil of Sant’Agata fossils, rich in clay and sand. Here, organic farming is practiced with a focus on sustainability and biodiversity, aiming to create exceptional wines by preserving the vineyard's natural balance and expressing the terroir.
